Nineteen years on

Last updated : 09 May 2006 By Tony Scholes

We all know that the consequence of not winning, and other results not going for us, would have consigned us to at best non-league football, but that game, now known as ‘The Orient Game' was won and we survived.

Four years ago we created a special section for The Orient Game on Clarets Mad, I'm not so sure we'll ever feel the need for any other game to ever have its own section. It includes your views on the day, and please, if you would like to send us your views then EMAIL them to us.

Today we have added four reports from the national press – including the most read of them all from Ian Woolridge. Visit The Orient Game to see these reports, alongside the local press reports, your views a look back at the programme and a special dedication from former Burnley Express Sports Editor Peter Higgs.

Somehow I don't think 9th May will ever be forgotten by Burnley fans.
