The news of our interest broke last night with Sky reporting that Burnley had flown him in for talks, but doubts were cast this morning when Bolton boss and former 12 goal legend Owen Coyle expressed an interest.

However, Turf Moor has proved to be his destination and reports this afternoon are now saying that he's had a medical with a loan deal likely until the end of the season after which we would be able to sign him on a permanent basis for a fee thought to be around €4 million.

Burnley remain tight lipped at the moment but it does look as though Brian Laws is on the brink of his first signing as Burnley boss ahead of this weekend's FA Cup tie at Reading.
