Nik back as Marlon goes

Apparently the Smog Monsters have injury and flu problems and Marlon may or not be required for their games this Easter weekend. Steve McClaren has exercised his right to recall Marlon.

If a player is in a loan period at transfer deadline then it can be extended after the deadline date but with Marlon now back at Middlesbrough I don't know what the situation is now regarding any potential return to the Turf for the remaining games.

He played a total of thirteen league games during his loan spell and reached a couple of milestones and came close to a third during that time. The 2-1 win at Crewe was Marlon's 300th game for the Clarets in all competitions whilst the 2-0 victory at Stockport was his 250th league game for the Clarets. He is just one short of another milestone though, he has now played a total of 299 league games for all his clubs and Saturday would have seen him reach the 300. He might though reach that figure with Middlesbrough.

There is no need to worry though because Nik Michopoulos is set to return for his first game since injuring his calf at Cheltenham in the FA Cup defeat and despite the fact that he hasn't since been used as a sub I do think that we have a more than able deputy in Luigi Cennamo.

Thanks Marlon, you've done a good job at a time when our form has not been at its best.
