Next week for youth team

There was little hope of it being played last night, and we will now go to Padiham next week to try again in this 3rd round tie against Franchise, the game will kick off at 7:00 p.m.

There were games played in the competition in what was far from a good night for the north west of the country. Holders Liverpool, who scraped through 2-1 at West Brom after extra time, were the only winners as three other clubs from the region went out at the first time of asking.

Blackburn Rovers took something of a hammering at Reading, losing 5-1 at the Madejski whilst Wigan were surprising 2-0 losers at home to Plymouth and Preston lost 3-2 at RK Sunderland.

The only success for Preston came at Kenilworth Road where Russell Preston scored the only goal of the game to see Luton through against Huddersfield and in the other game played last night Wolves won 2-1 at Leicester after extra time.
