New signings on the way

Steve Cotterill - reinforcements on the way
Barry Kilby broke the news this morning on local radio stations with the news that he is in negotiations regarding the signing of two new players and it looked as though that was all set to happen today.

Manager Steve Cotterill has been somewhat more cautious and later said that he was hoping to be able to add two new faces in the near future although he questioned whether anything would happen in time for our last ever trip to Highfield Road on Saturday.

The players remain a mystery but whoever they are they are both with the same club with Cotterill saying, “I don’t want to talk about the club and I don’t want to talk about the players because if it doesn’t happen before the weekend and they end up playing for their club, then they have to do their best for their club.”

He also said that the club were not looking for quick fix signings and said, "We're building for the future and that's why we can't just have quick fixes now.

"A quick fix will only last for a quick fix and it will wear away and we will have wasted a lot of money. We can't afford to do that here."

Needless to say it the speculation has kicked off and pairings of players from just about every club in the country have been thrown in. After exhaustive investigation today we can now confirm that Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp of Arsenal can be ruled out.

And more realistically, we can now rule out it being James O’Connor and Rob Hulse at West Brom with Hulse having made a loan move to Leeds.

Steve Cotterill will remain tight lipped until the deal is done, but there could just be a big surprise for Clarets fans when all is revealed.
