New role for ex-Claret O'Connor

The game in America is somewhat different from ours and this move has come about because Orlando City will be entering Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2015 and, as such, have sold their USL PRO franchise rights to Louisville.

O'Connor signed for Orlando City in January 2012 and has gone on to provide the needed experience and leadership in the midfield for the club managed by former Claret Adrian Heath and with Brendan Flood part of the group who set up the franchise when it moved from Austin, Texas.

He became player/coach with Orlando but it was announced this week that he will become the first ever head coach of the new Louisville club and he will move from Florida to Kentucky with immediate effect.

The two clubs, Orlando and Louisville will affiliate with one another.
