New home kit launched

Last season's kit disappointed many, as much for the claret shorts and socks as for the strange looking shirt that looked as though it had struggled to find anywhere to put the club's other colour of blue.

This time, although there will still be a lack of blue, it is a kit that resembles the home kit that was worn from 1969 to 1975, the one that carried the italicised BFC on the front rather than the club badge. Unlike that kit, which carried a round neck, the new shirt is a traditional looking V neck and will also carry gold piping across the front of the shirt. The white shorts will have claret trim down either side whilst the white socks will have claret and blue trim.

We've seen an end to the navy blue and yellow logo of our former sponsors, and the new sponsors Holland's will see their name on the front of the shirt in white. It has also been confirmed that their name will also be on the back of the shirt, and this will be the first time we've ever had sponsorship anywhere other than on the front. Worryingly the club reveal that it will be emblazoned across both back and front.

Speaking for the club, retail supervisor Paul Stanworth said: "The new kit is the result of exhaustive meetings between club officials and Errea and we are delighted with the results. I'm sure the shirt will prove popular with supporters young and old." The kit is again supplied by Italian company Errea who have signed a further two year deal with the Clarets.
