New face for Clarets

There's little I can say on this referee who joined the league list at the beginning of the 2006/07 season and was given his first Championship game back in August. Tomorrow will see him referee at this level for the fourth time.

He upset Stuart McCall earlier in the season with his handling of their 1-0 home defeat against Wycombe whilst Andy Ritchie was in a rage following their 3-2 home defeat against Cheltenham when he pointed to a number of poor decisions made by him.

Other than that it is all quiet, and he doesn't get his cards out too often. Last season there were 80 yellow and a couple of red cards in 25 games but his average is down on that so far this season.

To date in sixteen games he's averaging just under two yellow cards per game with a total of 31. We will need to be more vigilant when it comes to the cards, of those 31 only nine have been given to home team players with the other 22 to away team players.

He will be assisted by Paul Barnes (Cambridgeshire) and Gary Evetts (Hertfordshire) whilst fourth official duties will be in the hands of Stephen Tomlinson (Hampshire).
