Five will still be with us next season. They are central defender Tom Anderson and midfielder Steven Hewitt, both of whom are completing their second professional season, along with midfielder Cameron Howieson and striker Jason Gilchrist, having completed one year as professionals.

That's four. The fifth is Jadan Hall who was training with us last pre-season but suffered a serious injury. Burnley never confirmed they had signed him but today have reported that he's one of the five to be retained.

Unfortunately that means some will be moving on with seven players set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Two of them, defender Alex Coleman and midfielder Archie Love, are second year professionals while the other five, Jack Errington, Kyle Brownhill, Luke Conlan (all defenders), midfielder Luke Gallagher and winger Micah Evans are all first year professionals at Turf Moor.

Manager Sean Dyche said today: "This is a tough time of year as a manager because, along with the really good stories about the young professionals we are keeping as part of the future of the club, we also have to let young people know that we are not retaining their services.

"We wish those players well for the future and we have assured all of them that, as part of our beliefs, we will try to enable them to continue their careers in football.

"We do have a responsibility to look after these players as best we can and align them with their next pathway."

Coleman, Love, Errington, Conlan and Gallagher were all members of the youth team that reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup two years ago.

Clarets Mad would like to wish them, and Brownhill and Evans, the very best in the future with the hope that they can get fixed up at other clubs.
