New deal for Paul Cook

The news was reported by the Burnley Express that Paul Cook who is in the last year of his current contract has now signed a new deal that will extend his stay at the Turf until the end of next season.

Stan Ternent told the Burnley Express, "Cooky has signed a new deal, an extended deal for this year and another one. It is good news for the club, and we're happy with that."

Clarets Mad couldn't agree more Stan, it is good news for the club. In fact we think it is excellent news for the club. There were fears amongst supporters that Cooky might have played his last game for the Clarets when he suddenly joined Wigan on loan on the eve of our trip to Palace last month.

His return at the turn of the year was good news and the new contract is even better news. Now all we need are a few more spectacular goals and a few more excellent Paul Cook performances.
