New club for Hindle

Damo has been playing for Accrington Stanley reserves in recent weeks and has turned in a string of impressive performances for the Conference club’s second string. So much so that he has now signed a contract with them although there is no news of how long the deal is.

He looked all set for a deal at the Turf when he was still with the Clarets at the beginning of the season and although there was never an announcement from Turf Moor he left in mid-October.

He spent time with Division Two club Hartlepool United before opting for Stanley and that has proved to be a good move with news of the deal.

Last season he couldn’t stop scoring in reserve and youth teams and reached twenty goals for the season but found himself in the early reserve games this season battling on his own up front as the team suffered some hammerings.

But now he has the opportunity to try and win a place in the top half of the Conference and joins other former Clarets Paul Cook and Gordon Armstrong although another player released by the Clarets Andrew Waine has just left to join Unibond Premier club Hyde United on loan. He is obviously being considered for the first team having been given something he was never given at Burnley, a squad number. He will wear 26.
