Mullin's goal not enough

David Eyres - another goal today
John's goal in the 3rd Round proved to be the winner for Rotherham as they put out Premiership club Southampton at Millmoor 2-1. Today he was quickly on the mark giving Rotherham a 1-0 lead as early as the 3rd minute against fellow First Division club Crewe Alexandra in another home tie.

It went to 1-1 but by half time Rotherham were back in front at 2-1 but the second half proved to be disastrous as Crewe scored three times to win the tie 4-2.

That was it as far as the FA Cup and ex-Clarets goals were concerned and as well as Mullin it was also an FA Cup exit for Alan Lee who came on as a sub. Chris Brass was also on the losing side as crisis club York City were beaten 2-0 at home by Fulham but Marlon Beresford was an unused sub for Middlesbrough as they beat Manchester United 2-0.

In the league it seems we don't need to look much further than Boundary Park just at the moment for goals. David Eyres is in goal scoring form just at the moment and has now scored eight goals in his last fourteen league and cup appearances. Today he gave Oldham a 3-2 lead in their home game against Bournemouth but in the end they had to settle for a 3-3 draw that keeps them in eighth place in the league.

There were no goals from ex-Clarets in the Conference but the Burnley FC Community Team, better known as Leigh RMI won again this time 3-0 at Northwich Victoria. Gerry Harrison and Dino Maamria were both in the side and Dino got the second and third goals. That takes his goals total this season to 12 with 11 of them in the Conference.
