Mullin brothers together again

They were the best two players in the side by some distance, Paul Mullin and his younger brother John. Now I'm not the best judge of young talent but it was obvious that if any of that team was going to make a footballer then these two lads had the best chance.

Paul's played most of his career in non-league football and he's been a stalwart of the Accrington Stanley side that has come through the leagues to reach Football League status two years ago. He's still with Stanley and the striker now has two years league football under his belt.

Younger brother John joined Burnley as an apprentice. He made the first team before leaving for Sunderland. After loans at Preston and back at Burnley he rejoined the Clarets on a permanent basis in the summer of 1999 and was with us for just over two years before moving to Rotherham and then Tranmere.

Released by Tranmere he's been training alongside Paul at Accrington and has now agreed a deal with them which he is expected to sign later in the week. They are not under-12s any longer, but Paul & John Mullin will once more be playing in the same team. And it will make it easier for dad Bernard who will no longer have to alternate between two clubs watching his sons play.
