Mowbray move ends any Coyle speculation

Tony Mowbray - new Celtic manager
The champagne corks had hardly been popped at Wembley when the news of Strachan's leaving grabbed the headlines and that led to a couple of days of rumour that Owen Coyle was the man they wanted.

He may well have been, what happened behind the headlines is something we'll never know, but Coyle himself insisted he was going nowhere, as did chairman Barry Kilby.

It still didn't stop the rumours and even in the last couple of days they had refused to go away. That was until today when Mowbray decided to say his goodbyes to West Brom and move back to Scotland as the new Celtic boss.

It is West Brom who can now get on with looking for a new manager whilst we can continue our preparations for the forthcoming Premier League season.
