Moss takes charge of cup tie

Last updated : 25 August 2009 By Tony Scholes
His first and last Burnley game was just short of a year ago when he refereed our home game against Blackpool, our first home league win of last season and possibly our first very good performance.

There were no red or yellow cards that night although he ended last season with 106 yellow cards and seven red cards from 39 games.

This season he's already refereed four games. In those games he's handed out eight yellow cards and one red. The red card went to Walsall's Dwayne Mattis in their 2-2 home draw against Southend. However, just two of the eight yellow cards have gone to home team players.

He caused no problems a year ago and this is the only time I've seen him referee. Hopefully it will be another card free performance from him tonight.

He will be assisted by Mark Brown (East Yorkshire) and Jason Tyas (West Yorkshire) with fourth official duties in the hands of Ross Joyce (Cleveland).
