From the Select Group of Referee's panel, Jon Moss will take charge of the Clarets' opening Premier League fixture against Swansea City at Turf Moor on Saturday 13th August (3pm kick-off).
Better known as "Jon" Moss the Sunderland born professional football referee officiates primarily in the English Premier League. He was promoted to the Select Group of Referees in 2011 and now resides in Horsforth in West Yorkshire. He is a member of the West Riding County Football Association.
Moss was in charge of 33 games last season, issuing 97 yellow cards and 7 red cards in the process.
His last Clarets' fixture was when Burnley clinched promotion with a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers, following Sam Vokes’ headed winner.
