Moss in charge at the Riverside

Last updated : 14 September 2010 By Tony Scholes
I think much will depend on which Moss turns up if previous Burnley games are anything to go by. His only game at Turf Moor was the 2-0 win against Blackpool in the 2008/09 season, our first home win of the season.

He did OK in that game, but last season he took charge of our Carling Cup tie at Hartlepool and had a desperately poor evening which culminated in the very harsh dismissal of Richard Eckersley.

Eckersley was one of eight players he sent off last season. To that he added 121 yellow cards and that was in 37 games.

This season he's already been busy with his red card. He's refereed six games to date and although there have been just eight yellow cards (three to home players and five to away players) he's already sent off three players and all three have been in the two Championship games he's refereed.

Crystal Palace's Claude Davis and Andros Townsend of Ipswich were dismissed in Ipswich's 2-1 win at Selhurst Park. More recently, Coventry's Carl Baker was sent off in their 3-1 defeat at Millwall, and this one was a very poor decision, a second yellow card for kicking the ball away.

HIs last game was the League One game between Hartlepool and Exeter at Victoria Park, a game visiting Exeter won 3-2. There was just one yellow card in that game, for Exeter's Troy Archibald-Henville.

Moss currently sits in 33rd place in the Rate The Ref table.

The assistant referees tonight are Billy Khatib (Sunderland) and Seb Stockbridge (Tyne & Wear). The fourth official is M Dicicco (Cleveland).
