More than 90 Minutes

Last updated : 25 March 2005 By Tony Scholes

Season ticket prices are by up to £15 although thankfully the £5 vouchers that benefited those without season tickets have now gone. Match charges though are very interesting. They have been set at this season’s category A price except in the Bob Lord Stand where they are at this season’s Category B price but should you choose to buy your ticket on the day of the match you will have to pay up to £3 more.

A big disappointment for me is that there has been no attempt again to even up the number of free games where those in the Harry Potts Longside are still worst hit with the smallest discount despite paying the highest price.

Below is the press release from the club, along with the prices, and that includes the views of Chief Executive Dave Edmundson. As in previous years Clarets Mad are asking for your views which we will publish on the site.

Please EMAIL them to us ensuring we have your name that we can use on site.

And now onto the words from the club:

Burnley Football Club means a lot of things to a lot of people and it’s true that what happens at Turf Moor over the season really is ‘More Than 90 Minutes’.

Whilst the loyal supporters cheer on their heroes in Claret and Blue throughout the season, a matchday at Turf Moor is a lot more to many than just the game of football.

Supporters meet and greet their friends and fellow fans as they have done for years before a game and often for a post match discussion too, long before others are plucking up the courage to call up one of the many radio phone-ins that take place after games.

The matchday can mean different routines too and people have many means of getting to and from the game, whilst there are traditional pre-match cafes or restaurants for refreshments that have been frequented for years.

These things may have no direct link to Burnley FC, but without the games and the club, there would be no link at all and that’s why watching the Clarets is ‘More Than 90 Minutes’ to so many people.

And if fans commit to Burnley FC by getting a season ticket, it is one less thing to worry about on a match-day as they are guaranteed to see the full 90 minutes from their own seat every game!

Season ticket holders at Turf Moor all receive a number of offers and incentives which add value to the package to make it an all-round good deal.

Aside from the 23 league matches played at Turf Moor, a season ticket will see fans receive 20 per cent off the cost of a home or away short sleeved shirt for next season, a 10 per cent discount off all other club merchandise at the Clarets Superstore and 10 per cent off the health and fitness membership at the Stadium Fitness gym at Turf Moor.

Every Season Ticket Holder at Turf Moor also receives a ‘Golden Ticket’ which enables them to be entered into a draw to win a series of prizes such as the chance to watch a game with the Chairman and Directors, £500 in cash or a table for 10 including full hospitality at one home game, whilst junior fans can win the chance to be mascot at a home game!

It doesn’t end there either, as a season ticket gives supporters the chance to watch every home reserve match for free and also entitle them to use one day on a holiday course for children between 6 and 13 years old with the club’s award winning Community Programme.

Junior Season Ticket Holders automatically become members of the Junior Claret and Blues which has a number of benefits such as regular competitions, gifts, newsletter and a chance to meet the players at the popular Christmas party.

Not only do fans get these fantastic benefits, but you are safe in the knowledge that by getting a Season Ticket, you are helping the Club to move forward in the search of success, as outlined by Chief Executive Dave Edmundson.

“We are ambitious and, as the ‘Club For Its People’ we want to deliver the success that the supporters crave and keep moving forward as we undoubtedly have done over this season,” he said.

“Our aim is to continue building the club and the team into next season and the fans are an integral part of that team and can continue to help us to maintain the development of Burnley Football Club next season with your excellent support.”

Fans also have the chance to hand Steve Cotterill a crucial advantage in the summer’s competitive transfer market as he looks to improve and build the playing staff at Turf Moor by committing to the cause and taking advantage of the price discounts that are available until the end of April.

“To help Steve Cotterill build his squad, we need season ticket holders to commit to Burnley FC and allow the manager to start planning now,” added Edmundson.

“With a transfer window now being introduced to the whole League, it is vital that he is able to compete in the intense close season market and with more fans getting season tickets we have a better chance of doing this.

“If our season tickets increase significantly, then there will be funds for the manager to enhance his squad.”

The Club has also held a series of meetings with supporters over recent weeks before deciding on the final package for season tickets and it is hoped that this year’s deal has something for everyone meaning that everyone can be a winner.

“A lot of thought has gone into the package for next season, not least a very fruitful discussion with the Supporters’ Consultative Group and I am very pleased that they have broadly backed us with this package for the new season,” explained Edmundson.

“The season ticket money is the basic plank of the Club’s finances and it is crucial that we start to see the signs of support from day one.”

Now the prices shown below - the prices shown in brackets for match tickets are the prices on the day of the match, the cheaper prices is for tickets bought before the day of the match.
