More on the reserves

We were unable to cover the game last night but surprisingly, despite their boast that ALL reserve team games will be covered, the club also gave it a miss.

We can now tell you that the first goal came after just 10 minutes and was an own goal from Rae Ingram the former Manchester City defender. It was somewhat unfortunate for Ingram after goalkeeper Chris Williams made a brilliant save from Robbie Blake but could only parry the ball and it hit Ingram and flew in.

The second goal had a hint of offside about it but play was allowed to continue as the Clarets attacked down the right hand side. From the resulting cross Tony Ellis scored his second reserve team goal of the season.

The game allowed a number of senior players a run out, check out yesterday's Team News and Andy Payton got half a game replacing Robbie Blake after the interval.

The reserves are next in action next Wednesday against Huddersfield Town.
