For one of them it is a new deal elsewhere but for the other two it is the news of being released by their clubs and beginning the search for a new opportunity elsewhere.

Steve Guinan, who was on loan at Burnley from Nottingham Forest just over twelve years ago, ended last season at Hereford. He scored fifteen league goals for them during 2008/09 season although it didn't prevent the Bulls from suffering relegation.

This week he opted for a move to Northampton Town, another of the clubs relegated from League One, and has signed a two year deal with the Cobblers.

For two other former loan players of more recent years the news isn't quite so good. After two years with Luton Town the now Blue Square Premiership club have released Paul McVeigh whilst there is no future for Richard Duffy at Millwall.

Duffy joined Millwall on a free transfer from Portsmouth in February and went on to play twelve games for them. He'd played for Millwall boss Kenny Jackett previously at Swansea. However, Jackett has decided not to offer him a new deal and he too was released this week.
