Mooro hopes to be fit

He was forced off during the second half with a hip injury after indicating that he couldn’t continue. He was replaced by namesake Alan Moore. It looked as though he wouldn’t be fit for this weekend but his chances are now rated as hopeful.

There’s no good news for full back Lee Roche though and having missed both games last weekend he will again be out with the hamstring injury he received at West Brom a couple of weeks ago.

Other than that there are no others missing, for which we should be very thankful, and if Mooro is passed fit it will allow us to have five substitutes. Despite the sale of Gareth Taylor the playing squad hasn’t been reduced with our former striker having been out so far with an eye injury.

We should line up as we did at Gillingham, although Robbie Blake could play a more forward role in a 4-4-2 system. The team is expected to be:

Brian Jensen, Dean West, David May, Graham Branch, Mo Camara, Glen Little, Robbie Blake, Paul Weller, Tony Grant, Luke Chadwick, Ian Moore. Subs: Arthur Gnohere, Paul Scott, Alan Moore, Richard Chaplow, Matt O’Neill.

Crewe full back David Wright missed their win over Walsall with a calf strain but he is fit again and will play, replacing Chris McCready who deputised for him on Monday. New signing Anthony Tonkin from the Unprofessionals will not be in the squad though, he picked up a dead leg on his first day of training with his new club.

He is the only injury worry now for Dario Gradi with central defender Richard Walker and midfielder Neil Sorvel back in the squad after injury. Both played a part in their reserve game against Everton this week.

Paul Edwards and Luke Varney are both fit again although neither of the two youngsters are expected to be in the squad and that just leaves loan player Jonathan Walters, he is back in training after suffering for a tooth infection. He won’t be in the squad.

Crewe will line up: Clayton Ince, David Wright, David Vaughan, Adie Moses, Stephen Foster, Kenny Lunt, Dave Brammer, Justin Cochrane, Ben Rix, Steve Jones, Dean Ashton. Subs from: Ademola Bankole, Chris McCready, Neil Sorvel, Allan Smart, Lee Bell, James Robinson, Richard Walker.
