Alan Moore - now completed his move to Shelbourne
Moore left the Turf before the end of last season at the end of his contract and returned home to the Republic of Ireland, something he had been planning for some time. Shelbourne moved quickly to sign him but had to wait until the summer transfer window opened at the beginning of July.

He duly signed on Friday and impressed in their 1-1 draw that sees them ten points clear of Bohemians at the top of the league.

He’s not the only player to leave Burnley in the summer to have sorted out his future this week. We reported Dean West’s move to Lincoln whilst Glen Little finally signed on the dotted line to become a Reading player.

Paul Weller is training with York, and he has now been joined by yet another former Claret in goalkeeper Craig Mawson, whilst David May is contemplating retirement.

There’s no good news for defender Mark McGregor. As yet he has nothing at all in the pipeline, not even from the lower divisions, and admits to be sat by the phone waiting for it to ring.

Meanwhile there is news of a couple of our loan players from last season – Delroy Facey has joined newly promoted League One club Hull whilst Bradley Orr is all set to join Bristol City in the same division after Swindon pulled out of a deal to sign him.
