Moore in demand

Last updated : 28 June 2007 By Tony Scholes
Moore, who left Burnley during the spring of 2005, was immediately linked with Tranmere. That's no surprise, the manager at his former club rates him highly and always refers to him as 'Our Ian'. Despite this link, the favourites to land him have been Huddersfield and there's been plenty of speculation suggesting he was about to sign.

At this stage he hasn't but he is currently considering an offer from new boss Bobby Williamson to join Chester City although it is understood that there are a number of other clubs keen on signing him.

Two of those clubs are believed to be Huddersfield and Tranmere, and should he sign for either of them he could find himself up against his former club in League One next season.

Moore is now 30, and has scored 92 goals in 475 appearances with Tranmere, Bradford City, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Stockport as well as with the Clarets and Leeds before they were in League One. He has previously been involved in transfers totalling £2,850,000.
