Mark Monington back in the Football League with Boston
There were three former players in the 3rd Division play off game between Hartlepool United and Cheltenham Town. Mark Yates was in the Cheltenham side and Paul Smith played for Hartlepool. Smith was joined by Kevin Henderson when the latter came on as a second half substitute after a season that has been badly hit by injury. There could have been a fourth in the game but Neil Howarth wasn't in the Cheltenham squad.

Today Andy Cooke played for Icelandic club Sstoke against Cardiff and Paul Crichton was an unused sub for a club that really shouldn't have been there.

In the Conference though it was celebration time for Mark Monington even though he is currently out injured. Monno signed for Boston United last summer after being released by Rochdale and has captained them to he Conference championship beating Dagenham & Redbridge in goal difference. He wasn't fit to be included today but changed into kit at the end of the game to receive the trophy.

Congratulations Monno on making it back into the Football League.
