Mo Camara joins the Clarets

Last updated : 23 June 2003 By Tony Scholes

Camara has been with Wolves for three years and in fact made his debut for them against the Clarets in August 2000 coming on as a late substitute for Temuri Ketsbaia.

The Guinea international defender, he was an international colleague of Driss Diallo, cost Wolves a fee of £100,000 when he signed from Le Havre after a short trial period and quickly became a crowd favourite in much the same way as Arthur Gnohere has become at Burnley.

His best season by far was the 2001/02 season. He started the season out of the team but won back his place in the November and was a virtual ever present as Wolves reached the play offs.

But those play off games against Norwich proved to be his last in the old gold shirt and he didn’t make a single appearance last season as Wolves finally won a place in the Premiership for the first time. That was due to a cruciate ligament injury from which he is now fully recovered.

He was released at the end of the season after a total of 45 league appearances for Wolves and Stan moved in quickly to snap him up.

He’s quick and we are told by Wolves fans that he plays with great passion.
