Mitchell back for reserves

He missed the start of the season due to injury but got back to fitness and won his place back in the first team although he only started one game, the 5-2 win at home to Walsall. After a couple of sub appearances afterwards he was back on the injured list and has remained so until returning to training only recently.

It's good to see Mitchell back and he will line up in probably the least experienced side the Clarets have used for a reserve team game all season. That's no surprise though given the current injury situation down at Turf Moor.

In fact Mitchell is the only player in the squad to have started a first team game for the Clarets although Anthony Shandran does have one sub appearance, at Crewe last season.

As reported earlier the Clarets will include Ukrainian international Sergei Kandaurov in the team, he is currently on trial and hoping to win a contract.

The full team tonight is, Luigi Cennamo, Andrew Leeson, Paul Scott, Earl Davis, Mitchell Thomas, Joel Pilkington, Mark Rasmussen, Matthew O'Neill, Damien Hindle, Anthony Shandran, Sergei Kandaurov. Subs: James Salisbury, Andrew Waine, Jonathan Leary, Richard Chaplow, Sean Blakey.

The Wrexham team has been named and although there are two Trinidad & Tobago internationals in the side, Dennis Lawrence and Carlos Edwards, it does have something of a Welsh flavour to it with a Williams and and Evans in the starting line up. It is on the subs bench though where the Welsh is most evident and coach Joey Jones has named four namesakes.

The full team is: David Walsh, Adrian Moody, Dave Warren, Shaun Pejic, Dennis Lawrence, Paul Barrett, Carlos Edwards, Martyn Chalk, Lee Trundle, Mark Evans, Gareth Williams. Subs: Adam Arkell, Darren Jones, Osian Jones, Paul Douglas Jones, Mark Jones.
