Miller to referee televised game

Last updated : 24 November 2008 By Tony Scholes
We've more than had our moments with Miller over the years and he's had a couple of shockers. The home game against West Brom saw manager Stan Ternent go onto the pitch to remonstrate with him, whilst he had a massive influence on the result of our game at QPR in 2004.

Last time out though he had his best game yet whilst refereeing Burnley. Maybe that was just because we won a vital game at Birmingham, but it was perhaps apt he was in charge on the day when his namesake Brian, the former Burnley great, had passed away. If he referees like that tonight then I'm sure no one will have any problems.

This season he's refereed 14 games with 33 yellow cards and three red cards. Two of those red cards came in his first two games of the season. He sent off Millwall's Paul Robinson at Oldham on the opening day of the season. They led 3-1 at the time but lost the game 4-3.

Three days later he sent off Rotherham's Marc Joseph as they beat Sheffield Wednesday on penalties in the Carling Cup, and the third red card came two days ago. That was Bertie Cozic of Exeter in their 1-1 draw at Morecambe.

All three players sent off are away players but the yellow cards are more evenly matched with 17 to home players and 16 to away players.

He will be assisted by Paul Thompson (Derbyshire) and Jock Waugh (South Yorkshire) whilst fourth official duties will be in the hands of Football League referee David Foster (Tyne & Wear).
