Micah in Gills trial

Micah was placed on the transfer list by Posh at the beginning of November with Director of Football Barry Fry claiming that his club were now strong in the midfield area and Micah was no longer guaranteed a place.

He said then that something could happen in the January transfer window but, after he turned down loan moves to Barnet, Notts County and Stevenage Borough during November, his contract at London Road was cancelled by mutual consent at the beginning of this month.

Micah, now looking for a new club in January, has been able to secure this trial with Gillingham. He was one of three trialists in the side that drew 2-2 with QPR yesterday.

It's almost two years since he left Burnley for Peterborough, since when he has made no fewer than 71 appearances for them and captained the side to promotion last season when they finished in second place in League Two.

But he's played just nine league games this season with five of them starts, and was last in the Peterborough side in October when he came on as a sub in their 1-1 draw at Crewe.

Just as a reminder. Micah didn't score a goal during his time with Posh, and so his last goal remains the one he scored for us at Ewood Park just a few months short of four years ago.
