Micah at Braintree

Micah, now 35, spent last season with League Two club Barnet who survived relegation on the last day of the season.

Without a club, he's turned to his local club Braintree Town to keep fit during pre-season and might just stay with them for the 2010/11 season.

Braintree manager Rod Stringer said: "Micah Hyde is in the twilight of his career but he is a fit boy. He wants to get his coaching badges and come and see what it's like at Braintree.

"We've explained to him the type of money that is at the club. Now it's a case of whether or not he wants to find more money or be more local."

Hyde joined the Clarets in the summer of 2004 following the appointment of Steve Cotterill as manager. He scored on his league debut against Sheffield United and added just one more Burnley goal, that coming at Ewood Park in the FA Cup replay against Blackburn Rovers in March 2005.

He spent two and a half seasons with Burnley before moving on to Peterborough United in January 2007.
