Tyrone Mears
Tyrone Mears was our best player and he was an easy winner in both the man of the match vote and the player ratings on the message board.

He polled no less than 47.8% of the vote for the man of the match, a clear winner with no other player getting even a 10% share of the vote. Chris Eagles was surprisingly second with 9.2% whilst goalkeeper Brian Jensen, who had no chance with the only goal, came third with 7.4% of the vote.

In the player ratings, Mears was the only player to get a rating above the average of six. His was 6.31 out of 10 to once again give him the top position. This time Jensen was second with a rating of 5.76 and central defender Michael Duff took third place with a rating of 5.55 out of 10.

That gives Mears the maximum six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Jensen gets three points, Eagles two points and Duff one point.

Eagles takes his lead at the top to fourteen points over Steven Fletcher. Mears has now gone third, climbing above Jensen despite the three points for the keeper who remains in fourth place.
