McKee heads north to St. Mirren

Joe won his first professional contract in the summer and got on the bench for our Carling Cup first round tie against Burton Albion a couple of weeks ago. He didn't get on and with us not yet having had a reserve game (the first is tomorrow) he has not had any competitive football this season.

Hopefully he'll get that now having joined a St. Mirren side who have made an impressive start to the SPL season with 8 points from the first 5 games in which former Claret Steven Thompson has netted three times.

Thommo's been at it again tonight, scoring twice in a 4-3 League Cup win against Greenock Morton.

Joe will spend the rest of 2011 at St. Mirren and could go straight into their squad for this weekend's game against Celtic to give him the toughest of starts.

He's come on leaps and bounds in the last year and I'm sure he'll do well back in his native Scotland before returning to Turf Moor in January 2012.
