McDonald is top man at Palace

Kevin McDonald
It was the day we got our first league point on the table as we fought out a 0-0 draw against nine men and the performance of McDonald caught the eye as he won the man of the match vote and came second in the message board player ratings.

He was a clear winner in the man of the match with 29.9% of the vote and that was more than twice that of second place Graham Alexander who had an excellent game back in a central midfield role. He won 13.9% of the vote. Chris Eagles, just behind Alexander, with 13.3% took third place and the last point on offer.

In the player ratings, via the message board, there were much higher ratings than in the previous two games although still no one has secured anything over seven. Central defender Clarke Carlisle finished top with a rating of 6.69 out of ten for his first points of the season.

McDonald was right behind with 6.63, just short of taking all six points, whilst in third place was Robbie Blake who came on as a sub and certainly made a major contribution as we stepped it up against the nine men of Palace.

Voting is currently running for the Carling Cup tie against Oldham and as usual the voting poll, which ends tomorrow night, can be found on the front page.

The current table
