McCarthy wants McCarthy

Owen Coyle - still keen on Accies' pair
We have now upped our offer for left back Easton to £800,000 but our hopes of landing McCarthy have now been made more difficult with Wolves having put in an offer that is double ours.

Owen Coyle would like to bring in both of these two young players but the ball now appears to be back in our court for McCarthy and whether we are willing to go higher and match or better the offer from Wolves.

Whatever happens with McCarthy, there is no doubt that Easton is keen on a move to Turf Moor. Learning of Burnley's interest he said: "There have been so many lads heading down south over recent seasons and Steven Fletcher is just the latest. I am thrilled that Burnley are interested in me.

"I don't know what will happen but Accies' chairman, Ronnie McDonald, has always said if a big move came up he wouldn't stand in my way.

"I know I still have a lot to learn but I feel I'm ready to make the step and follow the rest of the Scottish lads down south."
