Chris McCann - scored on his return
Against a strong Dynamo Kiev side, Burnley fell to a 2-1 defeat but the return of McCann was the big positive. "Chris looked good and obviously it was nice to see him back on the pitch," manager Brian Laws said after the game.

The game only got the go ahead late in the day after torrential rain had put it in doubt but Laws said of the work out: "They were a very good side. It was a very strong, physical game played at a good tempo.

"Both Dynamo Kiev and ourselves were really happy with it and it was a great work out for us. We made a lot of chances and I thought we were the better team. It rounded off the week perfectly.

"I was delighted with how we played. It was important for me to have a look at some of the players who I haven't seen in a competitive game and I was delighted with the commitment, the attitude and the performance.

"Jack Cork was excellent, Chris Eagles did well when he came on, Nimani had a good game and was unlucky not to score and they all did well. It's been an excellent trip and will hopefully stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.

The Burnley team was: Nicky Weaver, Richard Eckersley, Michael Duff, Stephen Jordan, Christian Kalvenes, Jack Cork, Chris McCann, Robbie Blake, Frederic Nimani, Steven Thompson, Martin Paterson. Subs used: Chris Eagles, Andre Bikey, Wade Elliott.
