There was no real pattern to things in this game with the man of the match vote giving a totally different result than the player ratings and it was a match where no less than eight players picked up points for a top four finish in one or the other.
McCann won the man of the match. He had 20.9% of the vote and that was ahead of Charlie Austin, who returned with a first minute goal, and Danny Ings who were joint second with a 14.9% share each.
Ross Wallace was the only other player to reach double figures. he won 12.2% of the vote and that was enough to give him fourth place.
Only McCann of that group finished in the points in the player ratings. Shackell was the winner here with a rating of 6.67 out of 10 with Danny Lafferty taking the runners up spot with a rating of 6.33.
Michael Duff, who was forced off early in the second half with a calf injury, was third. His rating was 6.25 and in fourth place were both McCann and Lee Grant who had ratings of 6.17 out of 10.
McCann it was who won the most points. He picked up six and there were five points for Shackell, three each for Austin, Ings and Lafferty, two for Duff and one for both Grant and Wallace.
Those points have brought little change to the Clarets Mad Player of the Year Table but Austin, on his return, went into three figures and extended his lead at the top to 17 points.
The next vote will for the Bolton game and will start within an hour of the final whistle on Saturday.
