Maylett stays at Swansea

It had all been arranged before the weekend games and the 3rd Division club confirmed during last week that the right-winger would be remaining at Vetch Field until the end of the season.

Maylett is enjoying regular first team football for Swansea and has played in six games for them to date in a run that has seen the Swans hit improved form. His debut was in a vital home game against Carlisle that was lost after a controversial penalty and sending off decision but since they have drawn three and won two as they try to pull themselves away from the Football League trap door.

Swansea boss, and former Claret, Brian Flynn said last week, "I’ve said all along that at this stage of the season it’s about having players available and having strength in depth. Burnley allowing Brad to stay with us is a real boost, as combined with the players we have returning from injury we now have almost a full squad to choose from.

"Brad’s enjoying playing regular first team football and you can see that in the way he is playing, he’s growing in confidence in every game. I’m sure that he’ll play a big part over the coming weeks".

It was thought that with the current injury situation at the Turf and with Glen Little now unavailable with his loan move to Reading it could be time for Maylett to get a run in our first team.

That’s not the case though and along with Anthony Shandran at York and Earl Davis (Southport) he will stay on loan until the end of the season.
