May set for Stanley

David May - set to play for Accrington
May was out of contract at the Turf having signed a one year deal last August along with Mark McGregor, Paul Weller and Dean West. Having been told there was to be no new deal for him he did say that he was considering retiring from the game.

It looked that way with no news of a new club having come in for him but it seems that Accrington boss John Coleman is keen to offer him a deal.

In an attempt to boost the gate tonight at the thankfully reduced rate of £7 Stanley have said that there will be two mystery trialists with Premiership experience, one a goalkeeper and the other a defender.

That defender is almost certainly David May who would certainly be a good acquisition for a club playing in the Nationwide Conference National League.

That means all the players who left at the end of last season are now either with new clubs or on trial with new clubs: Glen Little (Reading), David May (Accrington Stanley), Mark McGregor (Blackpool), Alan Moore (Shelbourne), Paul Weller (Luton) and Dean West (Lincoln).
