Matty Heywood on the move

Matt Heywood
Matty was one of the players brought on as a sub during the infamous 1-0 defeat against York after which Stan Ternent announced four players wouldn't play for the club again. It was Heywood's debut and he went on to play fifteen games for us during the 1998/99 season.

He didn't feature again in the first team and in January 2001 he signed for Swindon where he had a successful time winning a number of player of the year awards. From there he went to Bristol City and then two summers ago signed for Brentford. Now at 28, he's joined Grimsby Town on a two year deal.
