Marlon is staying at the Turf

There has been no further news from Turf Moor but we can confirm that Boro' boss Steve McClaren has agreed to this and Marlon will stay at Burnley for another month. It is not certain yet as to when Nik will be fit for first team action and so until then Marlon will certainly carry on in goal. Once he is fit we will now have experienced competition available for that position.

The deal will keep Marlon here until the end of March and that will be just three weeks from the end of the season, that could mean we might retain him until then as his Middlesbrough contract comes to an end.

Whatever happens Marlon will be in goal tonight hoping to keep his first Burnley clean sheet since a 2-0 win against Charlton on 4th April 1995.
