Marlon gets another short term deal

Another month for Marlon
Initially Stan said that he was hoping to tie Marlon to a deal until the end of next season but for whatever reason that hasn't happened yet and a one month deal has been signed to allow him to contiune in goal.

That hopefully won't mean Marlon will again be kept hanging on in a month's time with news that talks will continue on a longer deal next week. Both parties have said they hope that it can be concluded successfully next week or before the end of this deal.

There is no doubt that Marlon has been in top form recently after taking over from Nik Michopoulos for the game at Derby, the game that proved to be our first win of the season.

With Michopoulos currently on loan at Palace (although he can be recalled at any time) it was imperative that some sort of deal was agreed with Marlon. It can only be hoped that we won't be hanging on again in a month's time.

Marlon though is reasonably happy with the arrangement and told the club's official web site,

"I have agreed with the manager to stay for another month and I have signed a month's contract. Hopefully we'll talk more next week about something more long term which I would like to do.

"I'm enjoying it enormously here. It's what I came to do and things have gone well so hopefully that can continue. I do feel more relaxed and at home here but it is frustrating with the insecurity of not having a longer deal but hopefully we can sort things out next week and before the month ends."
