Marc-Vivien Foe

He collapsed during the Confederations Cup Semi-Final against Colombia in Lyon and despite attempts to resuscitate him for 45 minutes he died with what is believed to be a heart attack.

Foe had spent last season on loan at Manchester City from Lyon having previously played for West Ham and at both grounds, he scored City’s last ever goal at Maine Road, supporters have been leaving flowers and tributes.

It appears now that he was all set to play for Portsmouth next season with close friend Harry Redknapp having offered him a 2 year-deal. That was before yesterday’s tragedy when at just 28 years of age he lost his life.

Tributes have poured in from a stunned football world and Clarets Mad would wish at this terrible time to send our condolences to Marc-Vivien’s friends and family.
