Paul Weller - back after completing his three match ban
It is a case of one in, two out in terms of suspensions with the only positive news being Paul Weller’s return after completing his three match ban following his sending off in the cup tie at Millwall.

Two ridiculous bookings for dissent in the league game at The Den mean that both left-back Mo Camara and the almost certain deputy in that position Graham Branch will now miss out, the last two Burnley players to suffer a suspension for five yellow cards this season.

There is no guaranteed good news with either of the two remaining loan players either with both Luke Chadwick and Neil Wood still rated as doubtful. It has been revealed that Chadders has an achilles injury whilst Wood is still suffering with his ‘tweaked’ knee.

Neither have been ruled out with Chadwick believed to have the better chance of making it. Matt O’Neill and Joel Pilkington are also ruled out and it certainly looks as though these two are now the forgotten men of Turf Moor, they are no longer mentioned by the Club in the build up to a game.

Lee Roche will be out for another three weeks or so yet after tearing a hamstring and so we really are down to the last few. At least no players miss out these days, if you are fit, or remotely close to fit, you get a shirt.

If neither Wood nor Chadwick make it then it looks as though Paul Weller will take the left-back berth on his return in a side that is likely to be:

Brian Jensen, Dean West, David May, Mark McGregor, Paul Weller, Glen Little, Richard Chaplow, Tony Grant, Alan Moore, Robbie Blake, Ian Moore. Subs: Nathan Abbey, Paul Scott, Ryan Townsend, Marc Pugh, Tom Ince.

That would leave us with no first team experience on the bench at all apart from keeper Nathan Abbey so Stan will be desperate for one of Chadwick and Wood to report fit.

Coventry also have some problems although nothing like those facing the Clarets. They will be without three players through injury.

Youssef Safri, Patrick Suffo and Andy Morrell are all out of contention. Safri is facing a hernia operation whilst strikers Suffo (bruised foot) and Morrell (knee) are both ruled out.

Coventry’s two defensive loan players Martin Grainger and Peter Clarke are set to play their last games although Coventry are keen to extend Grainger’s deal at least.

They have been involved in a loan deal this week with former Liverpool keeper Pegguy Arphexad on the way out to Notts County for a month. Scott Shearer will continue in goal with former Burnley loan keeper Gavin Ward on the bench.

Coventry are expected to name the same team that lost at West Brom last week which is:

Scott Shearer, Martin Grainger, Callum Davenport, Steve Staunton, Peter Clarke, Stephen Warnock, Eric Deloumeaux, Michael Doyle, Bjarni Gudjonsson, Julian Joachim, Gary McSheffrey. Subs: Gavin Ward, Mo Konjic, Richard Shaw, Craig Pead, Dele Adebola.
