Man of the Match voting

Last updated : 26 December 2005 By Tony Scholes

Ade Akinbiyi - the current leader
This will mean some of them only running for two days rather than the usual three days, we didn’t want to be running the vote for one game the day after the next one had been played. The schedule over the next two weeks is shown below.

The voting has proved to be even more popular this season and already the number of votes cast is well in excess of 13,000, and right now there is a clear leader in the race to become the Clarets Mad Player of the Year.

Ade Akinbiyi has already picked up seven Man of the Match awards and that is three more than his nearest rival Gareth O’Connor whose four awards came in consecutive games in September and October. Ade is also well clear with the number of votes cast with Micah Hyde having the second highest number of votes.

Will Ade go on to win it and become the fifth winner of this award? Will he follow in the footsteps of previous winners Arthur Gnohere, Graham Branch, Robbie Blake and Gary Cahill?

The schedule for the next two weeks:

Burnley v Stoke – this evening to end of Wed 28th December

Norwich v Burnley – Thu 29th to Fri 30th December

Burnley v Sheffield Wed – evening of Sat 31st December to Mon 2nd January

QPR v Burnley – Tue 3rd to Wed 4th January

December Goal of the Month – Thu 5th to Fri 6th January
