Magpies far from happy with the Clarets

Orr, who said on the day he signed that he couldn’t wait to get going, has played just two minutes first team football in the three games since he signed having been named as a substitute on all three occasions. He has made one reserve team appearance to add to that.

The initial loan was for one month with the option of a further two months but any extension beyond that first month now looks very unlikely. Both reserve team coach at Newcastle Tommy Craig and manager Sir Bobby Robson are said to be unhappy that he has not been starting any games for us or even coming off the bench.

The North East press are reporting that the Magpies’ midfielder was loaned to us on the understanding that he would be playing first team football. That hasn’t happened and he would have actually played more football had he stayed at St. James’ Park and continued to play in their reserves.

They believe that he will be back at Newcastle immediately after this month has ended and he could even then be loaned to Rotherham with Ronnie Moore having been keen to take him when he joined the Clarets.

Meanwhile the player can expect to get a first Turf Moor outing this Wednesday when the reserves take on Sheffield United and could even get some first team action when we return to Millwall with both Tony Grant and Paul Weller suspended.
