Madaschi moves on to Coventry

It looks as though Madaschi impressed the Burnley coaching staff but because of the financial restrictions we have been unable to offer him anything other than a short term deal which is unlikely to be acceptable to a player set to move to a new country.

The player himself was impressed with us and there have been suggestions that he would like to stay but his agent Lou Sticca said yesterday, "It’s a complicated situation for Adrian. He enjoyed himself at Turf Moor and was very impressed with the club and the town. But Burnley can only offer a short-term deal at the moment and it isn’t what Adrian is after.

"He wants to put down some roots and play regular football in England. He feels he can definitely do a job in the First Division. Coventry manager Gary McAllister was keen to have a look at Adrian so that’s where he’s off today.

"As he showed at Burnley, he’s in tremendous shape and is determined to land a decent contract in England."

The chances of him coming back to Burnley now look unlikely if we can only offer this short term deal and we will now look on and see whether he can win himself a deal at Highfield Road.
