Alex moves up to Falkirk with immediate effect and could be in line for a debut next week in their Europa Cup game against FC Vaduz.

Just 19, he's been limited so far in his Burnley career to substitute appearances since making his debut in the final home game of the 2007/08 season against Cardiff.

He'll now spend the first half of next season playing in the Scottish Premier League with Falkirk to gain much needed experience.

Owen Coyle said: "Alex is a player of huge talent, we have already seen what he is capable of, but going on loan to Falkirk for six months will give him a lot of experience, similar to when Jay Rodriguez had a spell with Stirling Albion in the 2007/08 season. I am sure he will come back an even better player." Alex played six games for the Clarets last season, the first coming in the 3-2 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane and the last at Arsenal in the FA Cup.
