Chris Lynch - cruciate ligament injury confirmed
Lynch was substituted because of injury in Chester's draw with Wrexham last Sunday with then Chester boss Mick Wadsworth believing it to be a serious knee injury. We reported in our reserve team report last night that Lynchy has suffered a cruciate ligament injury and that's been confirmed by the club this morning.

Manager Owen Coyle said: "It's a hammer blow for the kid because he's been in outstanding form for Chester." Lynch will be ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Jay Rodriguez was stretchered off last night and he's gone for a scan on his ankle but there is better news of both Fernando Guerrero and Kevin McDonald. "Of the three of them Jay is probably the worst case scenario, although we won't know until lunch time what the scan shows," Coyle said.

He confirmed that Guerrero had tweaked his hamstring whilst McDonald, who got a bang on the knee, was forced to miss training today but should train tomorrow.

The injury to Lynch takes our long term injured list to three with Chris McCann and Martin Paterson whilst we hope for good news on Jay.
