Luton sign O'Connor

O'Connor left Burnley at the end of the 2007/08 season and until now has been without a club. He had a trial recently with Yeovil that came to nothing but for the past three weeks has been training with Luton.

During that time he played in two reserve games for the Hatters, scoring three goals. Those performances have persuaded manager Mick Harford to offer him a deal up to the beginning of January 2009.

Harford said today: "It's no secret I've been looking for wide players and to add some experience to the squad after recent injuries. We want to improve the service to the front players so that we can turn possession into goals.

"Garreth's got a great chance to make a name for himself, he knows what we expect of him so he now has the chance to deliver."
