It's been a complicated situation for Conlan who has been back at the club since the start of pre-season, captained the development squad in their first friendly at Chester and also got on to the pitch for a few minutes in the first team game at Accrington.
He's had a knee injury but is now fully recovered and is delighted to be back at the Turf. On completing the signing he said: "I'm very happy to be back at the club. I know a lot of the lads from the last years and this is where I want to be.
"I want to progress now with Burnley again and hopefully kick of in the next year. I had a few offers from clubs who wanted me to go on trial but as soon as the opportunity came up here to get another contract it was what I wanted to do."
He thanked the academy physios Phil Pomeroy and Gavin Lee. "They gave me a new programme to help strengthen my knee and now I'm back at full fitness so I'm grateful.
"I just need to keep doing what I'm doing in the development squad and possibly going out on loan to get more experience. Obviously I want to impress the gaffer and the aim this year will be to get as many games as possible under my belt."
Luke agreed the deal last week and celebrated with a goal for the development squad in last Friday's 5-0 win at Villa.
