Looking like another month for Marlon

This time though it is Marlon’s choice with the club having offered him a two and a half year deal, an offer that Chairman Barry Kilby has confirmed again today and an offer that he has described as a good one although within the financial structure currently at the club.

Kilby told the Evening Telegraph, "We have still got a contract on the table that will run to the end of this season and for another two, and we think it is a good one.

"But Marlon is keeping his options open at the moment and we will have to see what will happen when the transfer window re-opens next month. Obviously we want him to stay at the club, his display the other night shows why we want him, but any deal has to be within the financial structure we have got at the moment."

So it seems that a lot will depend on whether Marlon can get a better offer during January when the transfer window opens to Premiership clubs or whether he can find a better offer elsewhere in the Nationwide League.

Given his performances recently that could be possible although everyone at Burnley would like to see him put pen to paper on that longer deal.
